Him or me

You never know just how much you love someone until something happens

To watch all of the happiness be wiped form there face

Or to get a call when they frantically need your help

To want to do all you possibly can to help and be comely helpless

To try to quiet to cries of desperation and you can't

To want to sleep but can't

Laying with one eye opening wondering if it's over

Going over and over it in your thinking what you might do if that person that hurt your loved one and your paths cross

I can't be calm

He hurt her in more ways than one

And I respectfully stood in the background my whole life

Protecting her in the background

Because if he ever did to me what he did to her

He wouldn't be

So me being me I have to do something

That's my mother my only mother

Nothing left if she gone

I love her more than my own life

And at times of strife and negative thoughts the thoughts of what it would do to her I would stop

She brought me here and I really want to take him out

Didn't respect him before… damn sure now

Trust no nigga fear no bitch

I don't fear that bitch ass nigga

Real rep you fuck with her you fuck with me

Watch ya back if you step foot on 221 again it's a wrap

You or me

Baby steps

I once loved another

The love was like no other

When we broke it tore my chest

To the point I wanted to rest

In pieces my heart was left

Soft and delicate like dreft

I drifted into a paranormal state

I felt second rate

Then I found I was fourth then fifth

The tale I was told had to be myth

Alas it was not

Inside my soul began to rot

Bided and bound to this disease of the mind and heart

I found some courage to restart

Just to be lied to again

I thought the next was more than a friend

Foolish of me to think you were different

I could never own you, you were for rent

Led me on for months

Putting up a series of fronts

So now I'm revisiting another

Someone from deep undercover

I won't be fooled again and cause disaster

Because I want this one to be happily ever after

Unfortunately fairytales are not true

So ima sit back and see what you wanna do

Baby steps

How She

In my sweetest dreams and my most beautiful nightmares I never would have thought a female could me so…

Loved

Protected

Vulnerable

Weak

Excited

Passionate

Strong

And masculine…

Makes me the man I was born to be…

Gives me that feeling that don't wash away with soap…

She takes and accepts my whole being…

She is extremely pure and patient…

My wife with no ring…

My life without end…

But she also leaves me…

Confused

Hurt

Makes me cry…

But never for long

She loves me…

And I her…

Maybe not the same she loves me…

But unconditional in the same…

My better half…

Idealistic thoughts

Let's consider the facts…

Life is hard for me…

I have a great job

A loving mother

A little brother

A truck of my own

And every electronic I could ever want besides an iPod…

After saying all of this life doesn't seem so grim right…

But it is… I promise it is…

Because…

I don't sleep

Constantly thinking

Constantly wanting more…

But this now makes me a greedy overzealous insomniac…

Regardless, I want more

Clothes

Food

And electronics

Shopping for labels

Shopping for quality

Trying to buy my own happiness in quantity…

Don't get me wrong I'm extremely thankful…

That I can try…

But I'm also fortunate to have my family and best friends…

Love for ones loved ones not ones possessions…

All idealistic thoughts…

Step Up

What is that definition of s real black man?

A man who defines himself by what he can do with hands and mind…

Not afraid of a challenge…

What happened to them?

Don't get me wrong they are out there…

But there are far many more niggas…

The strong black men are outnumbered…

The ignorant muthafuckas walking around shooting, robbing, and selling poison to their own…

Killing off the strong black men and women of our community…

Leaving our sweet chocolate babies to be raised by more ignorant niggas…

Thus starting a trend, a habit the can only be broken with education and support…

And love from self aware, educated, experienced strong black brothers and sisters…

Lets step up…

Who’s Responsible

Was it a mistake or fate?

That you two were brought together…

Was it love or lust?

That brought you to this position…

Was it the mental stimulation or the emotional inebriation?

That made you say what you said…

Was it the subconscious or the conscious?

That made the decision…

Was it you or him?

That started this…

Should it continue or end?

Recharge or die?

Be hit and quit or hit and missed?

Who's responsible?

Cuz now…

You can't trust him or yourself.

Loves Clock

What happens when the man or woman of your dreams comes along?

Do you panic?

Run?

Push them away?

Do you hide?

Or do you realize that they've been there all along?

That friend that no matter what happens has your back.

The one that waits when you're not ready…

But when is the right time?

When do you truly know you're ready?

If its too early you can risk losing them…

But you'll get same results if you elude them for to long…

What if you're scared and scared because of the past?

What if you're terrified the future won't last?

Am I too…

Early?

Late?

On time?

Or is the only clock that stopped ticking mine?
